Almost all of them manage to earn from home , simply with a PC and an internet connection. Without office. Without spending hundreds of euros on petrol to go to customers. Without investing in machinery or employees. Moreover, many of them easily manage to earn with affiliations without having a site !

In this article I will explain how they do it, in detail, but let's go in order ...

WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING AND HOW CAN YOU BECOME AN AFFILIATE MARKETER

If you have landed on this page, 99% is because someone told you about affiliations, affiliate marketing, Amazon, eBay, Facebook ADS and company . But what is affiliate marketing, really?

As you can also read on Wikipedia , affiliate marketing is nothing more than a form of performance remuneration, or rather, result marketing . What does it mean? It means that the company that has a product or service to sell, rather than using a closed network of sellers, offers anyone the opportunity to promote their brand or product online and receive a commission in return.

It is therefore not an employee job for which you have to do several job interviews to get hired; it is an open market accessible to all: to those who have a site or a blog, to those who do not have a site but are willing to learn how to use the various advertising channels to generate traffic, those who have a Facebook or Instagram page with many Fan, etc. In short, anyone who wants to use the internet to earn money!

Companies that promote their products through affiliate marketers, bloggers or web stars generally offer two different types of partnerships: direct affiliation or via an affiliate network.

WHAT IS A DIRECT AFFILIATION PROGRAM

This includes all the large companies such as Amazon, eBay, Booking, Expedia, Skyscanner etc. but also individual websites such as bookstores, various types of household items, e-learning platforms, and any other kind of product or service.

How does direct affiliation work? It is called direct affiliation because in these cases it is the affiliate marketer who enters into an agreement directly with the partner company through the affiliate program created by the latter.

For example, if I had a Facebook page that talks about cycling, I could join Amazon's affiliate program and start doing reviews of various products that are of interest to cycling enthusiasts. Within each review I could insert the link to buy the product on Amazon. If my fans click on the link and purchase that product (or even other products) within 24 hours, Amazon will pay me a commission proportionate to the purchase amount.

The only care you need to have to make money with affiliations is not to use "normal" links but to always use your own affiliate link that is provided within all affiliate programs.

THE GOLD MINE HIDDEN IN AFFILIATE MARKETING LINKS

An affiliate link, in the eyes of a normal person, is the same as any other link. The only difference, in fact, is that the affiliate links contain a code that identifies the "owner" of the link. In this way, when a sale occurs, the company knows who to pay the commission to.

In case you didn't know, most blogs use affiliate links, including mine and all the most famous Italian bloggers such as Salvatore Aranzulla or Dario Vignali and also major newspapers such as Hardware Upgrade

As you can see in the second link, the characters "? Aff_id = 834 ″ are those that contain the unique code of each affiliate marketer necessary to assign the sale and the relative commission. Very often, to hide the presence of the affiliate code in the links published on Facebook sites or pages, url-shortening services such as Google or Bitly are used.

This will make the link look something like this: goo.gl/productName Did you think that the amount of information present online was kept free or with advertising banners only? Not at all! Affiliate marketing is a real gold mine and more and more people and companies are digging it. Suffice it to say that today (and we are only at the beginning) affiliate marketing worldwide is worth several billion dollars! But let's go back to talking about how to earn with affiliations by analyzing the second type of agreements, or indirect ones.

WHAT ARE AFFILIATION NETWORKS

While there are many companies offering direct affiliate agreements with their affiliate programs, affiliate networks represent a market 100 times larger! They are the modern equivalent of the representative agencies that were so popular in the 90s that collected interesting products and assigned them for sale to their sales agents. Affiliate networks (or in English affiliate networks) are companies that act as aggregators of offers and intermediaries between companies and affiliates (or affiliate marketers). Practically, the affiliate networks are those who deal, in a first phase, with making agreements with companies.

For example, an affiliate network could agree with a cycling ecommerce and establish a commission of 15% for each sale made. Once this is done, the affiliate network takes care to find affiliates who want to promote the e-commerce in question by offering them a percentage, for example, of 12% on each sale. In this way, the network has a 3% profit on each sale that the affiliate will make.

The profit of the affiliate networks, in fact, is generally 20/30% of the commission paid by the company for the affiliate. There are many of these intermediaries called affiliate networks. Some are established and ensure fairness and timely payments, while others are those that are born like mushrooms and disappear after a few months often leaving "holes" of unpaid commissions to the affiliate marketers they have collaborated with.

Some of the best affiliate programs out there are:

 Zanox

TradeDoubler

 Sprintrade

Clickbank

A4D

AffiliaXe VIP Response …and many others.

WHAT TYPES OF COMMISSIONS ARE EARNED IN AFFILIATE MARKETING?

There are various types of commission, here are the most common:

CPS Commissions: per Sale, that is, the company pays for each sale made (usually a percentage ranging from 3 to 75%): this category includes Amazon, eBay, Clickbank and many other online sites as well as affiliate networks; CPL commissions: a Lead, i.e. the company pays for each user who leaves their data and makes themselves available to receive more information about the product, or requests a quote, or subscribes to the newsletter. This kind of offer is usually promoted by affiliate networks; CPC or PPC commissions: the company pays for each user you bring to visit its site (very common years ago but is disappearing little by little because it is not measurable). This type of remuneration is used mostly by price comparators such as Trovaprezzo or Kelkoo.

HOW TO EARN WITH AMAZON AFFILIATIONS BUT NOT ONLY

If you have read carefully so far, it will be clear to you that to earn with affiliations it is necessary to generate value, make sales or in any case bring users interested in a product or service to request more information. But how is it done?

The simplest way to understand, and which we have mentioned so far, is to own a site, or a blog, that generates traffic and tell visitors about the products or services we want to promote. BUT contrary to what one might think, to earn with affiliations it is not essential to own a site! In fact, many millionaire affiliate marketers don't even have a website!

EARN WITH AFFILIATIONS ON SOCIAL NETWORKS The most similar alternatives to having your own website or blog to promote affiliate products are, as mentioned above, social profiles: Facebook pages, Instagram profiles, Youtube channels or micro-blogging channels such as Tumblr. These are social network profiles that anyone can open but, once opened, it takes effort to keep them updated with new, interesting and frequent content. I say this not because it is technically difficult or demanding to do this but because it takes perseverance and dedication that not everyone has, especially in the first months when the profile is not very popular. However, it must be said that, even if we publish affiliate links continuously, the return would be close to zero because no one would visit them.

For this reason I recommend, especially in the first months, to publish only original and non-commercial content, in order not to bore the few users who will follow us. However, in my view, and from my experience, this is not the best way to make money with affiliate marketing, so let's not waste time and dwell on the methods of making money online with affiliate marketing that bring more. profits: paid advertising.

PAID ADVERTISING: EARN WITH AFFILIATIONS WITHOUT HAVING A SITE

The myth that to earn on the internet you need a website, and to bring visitors to a website it takes months, is just a myth and is based on the assumption that only SEO traffic exists, that is, that visitors come exclusively from the search engines. Research. Nothing more wrong. If you decide to create a site or blog that will rely solely on traffic from search engines such as Google, Yahoo !, Bing, in fact, it will take many months before visitors start to arrive. This is because the indexing process of a site takes time (and, if you allow me, also a good ability to write optimized texts for search engines). But there is a way to get a lot of traffic right away and, if you really want to, you don't even need to build an entire site but a simple landing page is enough! In fact, 90% of professional affiliates only use landing pages and do not build sites or blogs to promote a single product.

What is a landing page?

Here the definition on Wikipedia. If you didn't know, a landing page is a web page (in its own right) in which a product or service is presented without you having to change the page to discover the various features. I'll give you an example: Website: there is the home page, then usually there is a page that talks about prices, one that talks about the main features, a page dedicated to reviews, and so on. Landing page: everything is explained in a very long page where, within it, you find the button one or more times to buy the product or request information about it.

You must also know that building a landing page is infinitely easier than building a site: there are in fact many programs on the web that allow you to create landing pages by dragging the various components with the mouse (without writing a single line of computer code), just like if you were using Word to write a text document! So back to us: how to make money with affiliations without having a site? First you have to find a product you want to promote, then you have to build your landing page. At this point, you need to bring visitors to the landing page! And you can do it through advertising: Facebook, Adwords or native. Now I'll explain them to you:

or, find the sponsorship of the best course in Italy on Professional Affiliate Marketing which appears not only for this research but also for many other researches relating to the online affiliation sector. For advertising on Google the same rules apply as for Facebook: to create high-performance campaigns you need someone from an expert to explain the principles of operation and the "secrets" to spend little and convert a lot. I succeeded by following various courses on the subject, but even for this type of advertising there is a dedicated chapter in the course that I will reveal to you shortly.

MAKE AFFILIATIONS WITH NATIVE ADVERTISING

This kind of advertising is less well known but is becoming more and more popular. It is called "native advertising" because it has a "native" aspect that camouflages itself with the contents of the site we are visiting. Below is an example of sponsored news placed at the bottom of each article on the website of a famous newspaper: Obviously, if you don't notice the "Sponsored by L" in the bottom right, you would never understand that they are paid advertisements and NOT articles from that newspaper. For this reason, the user is more inclined to click on it and it is fairly performing. Unfortunately, being a new type of advertising, there are still no specific books or courses on it but the principles on which it is based are very similar to those of Facebook ADS. If you are starting out, however, I do not recommend starting immediately with native advertising because it requires high budgets. So my advice is: start making affiliations with Facebook or Google Adwords advertising and switch to native only when you have some experience.

ANOTHER WAY TO PROMOTE AFFILIATIONS: MAILING LIST AND SMS MARKETING Ok,

this last point is not really within the reach of beginners, but it is right that you talk about it because the two you see mentioned in the title are among the most used channels to make money with affiliations. It is nothing more than having a database of subscribers to a newsletter, or a customer database, or any other system through which people give you consent to receive advertising communications and, simply, send them emails talking about the products or services that you want to promote in affiliation. In this case, the rules for operating vary from customer to customer: some give you the freedom to promote the products as you prefer, while others bind you by giving you a pre-filled email to send without making changes. In any case, email marketing is extensively explained in several books and also in the affiliate marketing course which I will tell you about at the end of the article.

One thing not to be overlooked, in this case, is the importance of profiling. What does it mean? It means that every time you send emails to your list or database, you will need to collect as much data as possible to profile your users, that is, to understand their interests. This will be very useful for you to create "segments" and send each of them only communications regarding products that may be of interest to them. For example: I will never send advertisements for a Gillette razor to women! If you limit yourself to sending e-mails at random without caring about the interests of your users, in fact, after a few weeks you will have been reported as a "Spammer" and your future e-mails will go straight to the junk mail and will no longer be seen by anyone ( and your career as an affiliate will end with this!).

MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES AND FAMOUS MARKETER AFFILIATES

As you will have understood by reading so far, affiliations are an innovative way to promote products and services online and, above all, they allow anyone to earn without having to charge the user who is visiting the site. Affiliations and the affiliate marketing industry are there for all of us, every day. Much more than we think. And no, it is not a catchphrase in the style of "Adam Kadmon of Mystery" (the fuffologist program of Italia1, ed), it is a reality, here are some examples. Fare comparators such as easy.it, segugio.it and all their peers are based solely on affiliations. These platforms offer users a price comparison service on various services (insurance, mortgages, loans, etc.) and, when the user purchases one of these products by clicking on the links they provide, these portals earn a commission. If you think that they advertise on TV networks such as RAI and Mediaset where a few seconds of commercials cost hundreds of thousands of euros, it is easy to understand that in this area several million euros in commissions run every day! Another example of a character who makes affiliations his daily bread is Salvatore Aranzulla, the very famous blogger who writes guides on practically anything! In fact, Salvatore, when he writes articles such as "Best mobile phone under 70 euros", "Which heart rate monitor to buy for running", etc., inserts several links of the Amazon affiliate program. This way, every time one of your users clicks on them and makes a purchase, they earn a commission.

EARN WITH BET AFFILIATIONS

One of the most profitable sectors in the area of affiliations is, together with insurance, loans and trading, betting, online casinos and gambling in general, or gambling. In fact, there is a lot of money in this industry and, above all, it seems to know no crisis. Personally, I don't like this kind of promotion because promoting gambling platforms somehow means inducing web visitors to gamble and, it is well known, a percentage of players end up getting overwhelmed by the habit and falling into gambling addiction. This is to tell you that, when you see advertisements for incredible winnings at the casino, almost certainly whoever is talking to you is not doing it for your own good but because the casino will pay them a hefty commission if you sign up.

THE BEST ITALIAN COURSE ON AFFILIATIONS AND AFFILIATE MARKETING

I tell you right away that at an international level (ie in English) you are spoiled for choice on how to learn how to make affiliations. There are many forums, one above all STM - Stack That Money, but also many books and bloggers who talk about it (my favorite is Charles Ngo but also Nicholas Kusmich and IamAttila are equally good). What's the problem? First of all, to follow them, you must know English well, but the main problem is not the language. The biggest problem if you want to learn how to become a professional affiliate, in fact, is that the Italian market is very different from the English one. Those who have worked in the USA will be able to confirm this: Americans (but also Australians and Canadians) are much more sensational, they open their wallets much more easily, in short, they are very different from us. We Italians are more wary, more economical and much less inclined to buy online. So the way of making affiliations is also different. For this reason, if you want to work in Italy I recommend, and I am the first to do it, to learn how to do affiliate marketing with Italian affiliates. You must know that when I started there were not many books and courses on the subject, while today training on this topic is much more accessible. One of the largest Italian affiliate marketers has created, in collaboration with other affiliates and online marketing experts, the most complete course on the subject after having already written an extremely successful book. It is called AffiliatePRO and I myself, despite being fairly knowledgeable on the subject, did not hesitate to sign up.

My opinion after participating in the discussions in the Facebook group of the course and reading all the teaching materials is that, to date, there is no better training! Furthermore, the best thing about AffiliatePRO is that REAL case studies are shown where you can see what kind of offer has been advertised, how, and what economic return it has brought ... I don't know if you have already tried to attend courses or communities in the affiliation sector, but I guarantee you that NOBODY has been unbuttoned to the point of publicly showing their successful campaigns to date! In AffiliatePRO this and more happens! You can see all the details on the course content on this page and, if you have any questions or concerns before signing up, feel free to ask in the comments below or write a private message to the course's Facebook page and they will get back to you very quickly.
